Daniels 5th Birthday Party

Well all said and done it was fun and worth all the stress of pulling off a last minute gala. With so much going on right now I didnt want him slighted by me being too distracted to get all the cool party tricks I have up my sleeve pulled out and shining on the table for him to admire. Ill actually get some photos up here tonight, the last guests just left and one arrived to spend the night and keep sister busy so he could play with all the cool new things.

Daniels scoping out the presents, seeing if there are any big ones (cuz thats whats important!)

Erica and Jessica are playing ball together....Erica realllllllllly wants a sister! Ha...she thinks it would be easier.........

Present opening time, and yes...he opened the biggest one first...way cool car set from Uncle Darrell and Auntie Kris and the kids...Daniel is totally into things that crash into each other being the boy that he is and all.

Daniel designed his own birthday cake this year...really hard for me to let go of the control of it all, but he was over the moon happy with it. That makes me happy too then.

Poor Daddy was in charge of holding the pinata for the kids to pound on....

Everyone took a turn and hit and hit and hit this darn thing and it wouldnt budge. Candy was flying out of the top of it where the hole was to put stuff in, but it wouldnt break...

That is until Kinsey had a turn....he got it to open...hahahahahahahahaha!~

So ends another long day of good food, good company, and happy kids. Who could ask for more?? WEll we will see, since they are all on a sugar rush and still running around at 10:20 at night and Im ready to fall over tired!~

Dazed and confused

There seems to be a lot going on in my life right now, with most of it swimming around in my brain not really knowing where to go or end up. The last 2 weeks have been crazy; big major changes and Im not sure if they have all sunk in or if Im a little numb yet from the shock of it all. Mom and I spent 10 hours in the car yesterday, doing deliveries to Oak Harbor and Lynden...that was WAY up there and I was glad I made the decision not to take the kids along for the ride. We ended up taking the ferry also, so doubly glad for that.

This will be all over the place, but hey...thats what works for me. Jackie came over to Mom and Dads house for an impromptu Birthday party (ok, she threw her own party!) and brought her boyfriend Ryan...it was fun!~Hard to believe my little neice is 20 now...now the beautiful part, oh yeah...thats an easy one...!
The rain has made its way back to our corner of the NW more steadily, glad for the change in weather a little as the coolness is refreshing...

Summer Fun...even with the lack of sun...

So the kids and I are busy at Gramma and Grampas house, making cakes...and the kids having fun making mud pies. They seem to gravitate towards the horse yard and want to stay there all day, playing with the wandering goats and chickens from the neighbors yard too. Hank sure loves all the attention from brushing and the extra grain they give him to keep him close by. So sad to see him get so old, but as I tell him, were gettin old together and it sure can be no fun at times!~ He usually just swished the tail and rests his chin on my shoulder; I sure love that horse.

The rain over the weekend was great to have; we had 2 weddings, both outdoors, and I had to run the cake inside with it pouring down on me. One poor Bride had everything set up outside and they were carrying stuff inside for the ceremony while I was trying to get the cake in, fun fun. We were told that we could come anytime to set up the cake at the second one, only to get there and find out that they had just gotten there and didnt even have tables yet....so we opted to wait it out with the cake in the van, humid as all get out and just sit with it until they were ready. At least we were at a park and the kids got to play a bit until the rain came about and hour later. Lots of parties going on there too so there were lots of people running when it started raining on them all. One of the Brides I think got her Karma thrown back at her, but I wouldnt be very nice if I said that out loud...right? :)
I think Mom did break something in her hand, she goes back in on Wednesday to have it rechecked since if its a hairline it wouldnt show up for a week or more (she was told by the ER) so well see. Im up here this week baking and making fillings and helping her out as much as I can. Ive been trying to keep the kids busy too so that there are some fun stories for Erica to tell of her measly summer. I am taking them to the fair tomorrow for a little country fun; I cant wait. They didnt get to put anything in the fair this year, but well sure go by the baking dept. to see the others who did just for fun.
I sure miss my Hubby!~

The Weekend!!!!!!

Poor Mom always gets it the worst in August...stress catches up to her and she neglects herself too much and poof....ER visit. She is currently on a strong antibiotic and a strong pain medicine for now, she is seemingly getting better. I had 2 weddings today to deliver; Jackie came by and rode with me to watch the kids since I couldnt turn the van off and had to keep the a/c running the entire time. She was great, kept the kids entertained and even gave me a good giggle by making a pit stop behind some strange barn when we couldnt find a porta potty anywheres! Grampa took Daniel to the park earlier in the day and came home to show me the river of blood running down his face; he had run smack into a post in the ground, hitting the bolt on it and splitting his forehead. I ran him over to the walk in clinic but they told me it was a 2 hour wait and I didnt have much time since I had the weddings to do so poor Daniel got a tight bandaid until after I was done and then we went off to the ER too. (insert bad Mommy here)....Lucky it wasnt all jagged or anything, so he was cleaned up and dermabonded and released. My ex sister in law is the head charge nurse there, and since Jackie is her daughter, I was hoping it would speed things up but it still took 2 hours....sigh.....So home now, got some KFC on the way home and still munching on it with a glass of wine to try and unwind (snort, yeah right)...2 cakes tomorrow, 1 baby shower and 1 birthday plus an interview= long day. I cant wait for Monday to be home.

So its just 8 pm now, Ive gotten all the cakes decorated for tomorrow done finally. I took a shower, got the pjs on and ready for a glass of wine to knock the day away. My feet are on fire from being on them so long; 2 weddings tomorrow and a big 16th birthday cake...then on sunday 1 wedding, a birthday, and a bridal shower cake...those I have to decorate yet, just filled today. I got the sugar flip flops done, and the lei...now they are going to wait for a phone call saying we can use them whenever...its a surprise party for a good client of ours and they will let us know when the party is, but the cake parts are ready for it.

Mom and I had a "wedding show" ( I use that loosely) at the Everett Naval Base on Thursday; about 12 vendors there setup for the officers (and seemingly anyone else who wandered by) to come in and see the local vendors available for Christmas parties this season at the base. It was the only wedding show Ive been to that we had to bring our own tablecloth...glad we did since we didnt know we were suppose to. We did an anchor shaped cake with sugar poinsettias on it...no one seemed to see the shape of the cake clear enough and thought it was an arrow...o'well.

It was fun to sit there for the 2 hours watching people fill up on all the free food and drink...quite the show.

Kids are in their pjs too...fighing over a disney magazine, sigh...I cant believe its only Friday...it feels like an entire week in just a couple of days.

Here are some snipits of what we did for the 4th of July...We went and sat down by the cul de sac and had BBQ and the kids let off some fireworks.

Later Erica and Daniel and Savannah (neighbor girl) played with some sparklers and had a good time. There was quite a show just kiddie corner from us that we sat and watched from the porch swing. Good day overall!

Enchanted Village/Wild Waves July 1st

This was Daniels first trip to Enchanted Village/Wild Waves! Weather was perfect and they had a blast!
