"Just pull them Doc...."
Well my sore mouth was more than me being a baby; turns out I had an infection in my tooth and some (ugh) drainage from it too..over 2 hours in the dentist chair for a root canal and with some penicillian and vicodin I am feeling a bit better. My jaw sure is sore today though and Im all swollen on that side of my face, but the crowns going on are going to be SO worth it. I have fought with these teeth for a long time!!! Im glad there was only 1 cake yesterday and 1 today, then 1 on Saturday...hopefully Ill be off the pain meds by then to drive home!

The stress is coming off....sort of...

Well June sort of rounds the year out, with school getting out, Ballet Recital, and summer starting (I think). It also starts the busy Wedding season and even though this year has had its many share of calls, we are just not taking on as many as we usually do. Mom has been doing most of the work too; with the skyrocketing gas prices it doesnt make it sensible for me to drive up for 2 or 3 specialty cakes and she ends up doing them alone which in turn I feel guilt over not having a better vehicle so I dont have to worry so much about that...and if the prices keep up like they are, we will have to think about other vehicle options all around. Our cars are 6, 8, and 10 cyl....ouch at the pumps.
Ericas Ballet recital was great, the part with her perfomance at least. There is a huge difference in her dancing from last year, and watching the class she was pulled out of I can see why. The other class were doing more of the basic stuff still and it just amazed me that in her second year, she is now in a class with girls that have 6 years experience. A live singer was brought in, and I thought it would be funny and cute to have Montell Jordan (remember..."This is how we do it") from the 90's I think...one hit wonder I also think. But it ended up being enough for me to leave if they didnt have my child hostage backstage waiting for her medal and final dismiss. He was singing about "gettin it on" and by this time Im speaking out loud about the words of the song and how inappropriate this all was for a bunch of children right behind him listening. Then, to make things worse, he started talking about an online music lounge that I wont even plug here, since it made me SO mad they were trying to drum up business for it. The owner of the ballet studio has an online store there and im sure makes lots of money off it, since that seems to be her main goal. This went on for at least 15 minutes. The people all around us too couldnt believe what was going on. So finally, we claimed our child off the stage and walking my Mom and Dad to their car we set out for home. Enough rant about that.
School gets out next Monday, but there is a summer program for extra math work that we are going to sign Erica up for; she knows the stuff and can do it all, but is sooooo slooooow at doing it! One time it took us 90 minutes to get her to finish 1 sheet of math problems; Her teacher has called and talked with us and kept us in the know of whats going on, and has had to deal with this too during the day. Her teacher is really great too, and I took her some treats today just to let her know how much I appreciate all shes done.
So they dont let us take photos or video during the ballet performance, so we have to buy the dvd when it comes out, but I have some of her before we left. Ive been drinking a lot of green tea lately, trying to clear out some of the stress of the last month...is it July yet????
